January was an especially exciting month for us. During the first weekend, we attended the Core Conference where we made contact with several good pastors and were challenged and invigorated through the preaching. The following week, we had our very first deputation meeting at Maranatha Baptist Church in Marion, NC, the church we both attended during college. These dear people were such an encouragement as we worked through our first ministry presentation. Among several more meetings, we received a huge blessing which was an answer to prayer that came through our sending church. While preparing for our survey trip with the Shull family who live in Ilulissat, Greenland, we desired the opportunity to visit Nuuk, which is where our burden lies, but were unsure about the finances since in-country flights are rather expensive. But not long after we began to pray, our Lakewood Church family voted to provide sufficient funds to meet our travel expenses! God’s blessings are amazing! Other exciting happenings included purchasing necessary cold gear for our trip, having prayer cards made and ordered, and finalizing gritty details for our trip.
- Having our letterhead (so we can send out our first official prayer letter)
- Making our presentation video
- Retrieving everything necessary for our display table.
- Goals would be met
- Safety during our survey trip
- Survey trip would prove insightful and profitable
